A coffee subscription built around community and connection
At Dash, we’ve always believed that hospitality is about more than what’s in the cup.
It’s about people.
It’s about slowing down.
It’s about creating spaces where connection can happen naturally.
That belief is what led us to create the Rainy Day Club — a yearly coffee and hot drink subscription designed to bring people together on rainy days.
Why rainy days matter
Rainy days have a funny way of changing how we feel. They can make us cancel plans, stay home, and retreat inward. And while there’s nothing wrong with that, they can also be the days when we feel a little more disconnected than usual.
At our Dash cafés in Albury and Wodonga, we’ve noticed something special about rainy days. When people do come in, they tend to stay longer. Conversations slow down. There’s a shared sense of comfort in being warm together while the rain falls outside.
We started asking ourselves:
What if rainy days became something to look forward to?
What if they were an invitation rather than an inconvenience?
What is the Rainy Day Club?
The Rainy Day Club is a yearly dine-in coffee subscription offered by Dash Cakes, created for people who value community, connection, and shared spaces.
Members pay a flat annual fee and enjoy one free dine-in hot drink on days when it rains locally. It’s designed to create a simple ritual — a reason to leave the house, sit down, and connect on days that might otherwise feel flat.
It’s not really about the drink
Yes, there’s a free hot drink.
But the real value is what happens around it.
It’s sitting at a table instead of rushing off.
It’s recognising familiar faces.
It’s small talk that turns into real conversation.
It’s choosing warmth and connection on grey days.
The Rainy Day Club is our way of gently encouraging people to stay, not rush — because connection happens when we make space for it.
Our values: community and connection
Dash has always been built on community. From the beginning, our cafés were designed to feel welcoming, inclusive, and human — places where people feel comfortable being themselves.
The Rainy Day Club is an extension of those values, created especially for our local Albury–Wodonga community.
It’s a reminder that:
-
you’re welcome here
-
you belong here
-
rainy days don’t have to be lonely
In a world that often moves too fast, we wanted to create something small but meaningful — a ritual rooted in presence and shared experience.
